Day 8: October 16, 2015
We had an early start : big day ahead of us! First port of call was the Batican city. We met our local guide at 8.15 outside the high walls of the papal residence. We we're all hiked up with headers and could therefore follow her commentaries while we were visiting the museum and the Sidtine chapel....it is ever so impressive! We finished the tour by entering Saint Peter church, the largest one in the catholic world... After a spot of lunch nearby the Vatican, we then went on for the second part of the tour... The Colloseum and the Roman forum.... We learnt about Antique Rome and it's very advanced ( but brutal too!) civilisation. By mid afternoon, we stopped the educational side and turned round to the shopping side of this trip! Piazza Navona was the neighbourhood we enjoyed till we walked across the Tiber river for a yummy dinner in the Trastevere area. The coach took us back to the hotel after a grand day out... Fantastico!!
