Day 1: June 11, 2018
Hello and welcome to Washington, D.C.!
The group arrived at Baltimore-Washington International airport (BWI) waaay to early in the morning after a too long flight all the way across the country.
Of course, our first stop was for breakfast, so we stopped at a McDonald's for a "quick bite", which when you're ordering for 42 doesn't end up so "quick"!
Our official first stop was the National Mall and the Smithsonian Museums. Some of the group went to the Natural History and some to the American History. Others saw the Air & Space and the National Gallery of Art, as well!
It was decided, with the group so tired from a long travel day, we'd shorten the day's schedule and not continue visiting the museums after dinner. So, we had dinner at the historic "Ben's Chili Bowl" on U Street, where we enjoyed half-smokes and fries with chili and cheese.
Everyone was relieved to hear we were off to the hotel after dinner. It was nice to have an early night so everyone could get a good night's rest.
