Mrs. Ramirez's San Francisco & Los Angeles

June 17, 2019  -  June 22, 2019

Ms. Ramirez's enthusiastic group of students arrived early this morning and started off their journey with a close-up experience of San Francisco's many hills by walking up to Lombard Street, the "crookedest street in the world." With whetted appetites, they headed to Boudin Bakery (home of famous sourdough bread!) for some lunch and an exploration of the sights and shops of Fisherman's Wharf. After lunch, we drove across the city to the Golden Gate Bridge and took a look at the San Francisco skyline from the other side of the Bay. We dropped into the artists' and writers' enclave of Sausalito to see the Marin County side of things. From there, we traveled back over the bridge to a look at the lush and wild foliage of Golden Gate Park before cruising through the 60's hippie haven of the Haight Ashbury. We made a stop for some pictures of the famous "painted ladies" Victorian houses at Alamo Square. To cap it off, we visited the sea lions at Pier 39 and had some dinner and a look around the shops on the pier before winding our way to the hotel and the prospect of a good night's sleep after a very long day in the air and in the city.
