We arrived excited to be in LA and hungry. The sunny, warm weather was perfect. Our first stop was Santa Monica beach. A few of us braved the cold water of the Pacific. We enjoyed lunch and shopping on the 3rd Street Promenade or food trucks. The fresh air and walk was welcome after the flight. Driving through Beverly Hills we saw the Beverly Hills Hilton, Miracle Mile and the glitzy Rodeo Drive,There were few convertible Rolls Royce’s our for a drive too. A drive up the always busy 405 to the beautiful Getty Center which is the largest collection of art west if the Mississippi. Imported travertine tiles, gardens and views of FL Westwood and LA are bonuses to the art. Finally dinner at the Original Farmers Market established in 1934 on the Gilmore Farm. The 6th generation of Gilmore’s still mange the property where enybchance oil was discovered and contributed to the family wealth. We journeyed to our Hotel where some cooled off in the pool. A good night’s sleep was all we wanted.
