Day 5: June 2, 2024
Day 4 - Baroque and Ancient Rome🏛️🏟️
Today we drove to the center of Rome, where we were greeted by the passage of the Frecce Tricolori, the Air Force planes that shoot tricolor smoke, to celebrate the Day of the Republic. We then climbed down the 135 Spanish Steps, and some of you had a second breakfast at McDonald's 😜.
Next, we tossed a coin in the Trevi Fountain, saw some Caravaggio paintings at St. Louis of the French, walked to Piazza Navona, and eventually had some free time at the Pantheon to visit it or have lunch!
We then made our way to the Colosseum, where we met our guide Paola. After an initial fright given by the loooong line, we figured out a shortcut and still made our way to the amphitheater and the Forum. The tour was long and the information was A LOT, but you were all enchanted by the end of the tour and definitely ready for your authentic carbonara dinner 😏.
Now it's time to get some well-deserved sleep and explore a new country tomorrow, Greece 🇬🇷!!
