Day 1: June 10, 2024
Hi! I’m Emma, and I’ve arrived in London today, and am looking forward to welcoming you all to London in the morning (UK time, that is!). Not long now until you get into the air, and on your way! A few words of introduction: I love languages, culture, international and domestic travel, and meeting new people. As a former Girl Guide and Venture Scout myself, I am really excited to visit Pax Lodge with you, to witness your badge pinning ceremony, and to learn about your experience of being part of the Scouting movement; as you broaden your own understanding of the incredible, international community that you are part of! You’ll also get a taste of all things British, over the coming week: from different foods and climate(!) - hope you’ve remembered to bring an umbrella! - to royal palaces, immense abbeys and cathedrals, the home of UK politics, and ‘Big Ben’! And then it’s on to Paris, the host of the Olympics in a month or so’s time, where we’ll visit the Palace of Versailles and the art of the Louvre, take a sightseeing cruise along the River Seine, and even learn to play a classic French game, Pétanque!
