Day 5: June 22, 2018
For our last full day of the trip, on Day 5 we did Hollywood! We started with a walking tour that included The Walk of Fame, El Capitan Theater, the Max Factor Building, Egyptian Theater, Dolby Theater where the Oscars are held, the world-famous Chinese Theater with the forecourt that has the imprints in cement of film celebrities' hands and feet. We then went to the Hollywood Wax Museum and loads of pictures were taken with their favorite stars, some even dressed in costumes to fit the occasion! From there, it was on to Universal Studios for Ms. Palacios's, Ms. Drummond's and Ms. Jones's groups and a day full of fun and excitement with Harry Potter and all the other fantastic characters from the Universal world, plus a tour of the Studios to top it off. Ms. Peters's group elected to see the sights and sounds of Los Angeles with their day, making the first stop at, guess where, Santa Monica beach, because who wants to leave California without dipping their toes in the Pacific! From there, they traveled to Olvera Street, the founding Spanish/Mexican area of Los Angeles's earliest history. Next was an exploration of the Original Farmers Market with a cornucopia of food places to pick out a delicious dinner, followed by a visit to Universal City Walk to cap off the day. A fine time was had by all!
