We stay in close contact with our group leaders and tour directors throughout the entire trip-planning process; from the first phone call to returning home, we are there every step of the way. Here are a few of the frequently asked questions that we get about our world-class tour directors:
When will I hear from my tour director?
You tour director typically reaches out within 3-5 days before your trip via email. During our busy seasons (Spring & Summer), many of our tour directors are on back-to-back tours, which makes it hard for them to get in touch earlier on. If you have not heard from them 2 days before the tour, be sure to contact your Program consultant to collect their contact information. Be sure to also fill out your Pre-Tour Form after having a meeting with your group to help explain what your expectations are!
What is the Tour Diary?
Your tour director will update your Tour Diary each day with pictures and a description of the day’s activities (typically starting on Day 2). Travelers can invite friends & family to view this in the Tour Options section of their Tour Center account (and the Teacher Toolbox section of the Group leader’s account) The Tour Diary will be updated as long as there is WIFI available.
What will my tour director help with on tour?
Tour directors are an important part of your on-tour experience. Their job begins well before you arrive and ends long after you head home. They are there to provide information, manage all on-tour logistics, reservation confirmations, Tour Diary updates, and to assist with any emergencies. In the event of any issues with travelers on tour, your tour director will be there to help support all Group leader decisions, but do be aware that they will not act as chaperones or disciplinarians.
