The three things you need for back to school

There are a ton of resources out there for teachers to take advantage of when it comes to back to school preparation. We’ve done a little digging and compiled some advice from our group leaders on how to get your year off to the right start–including the steps to take to plan an incredible educational tour. There are a few items that can help your school year and tour planning process go smoothly:

journalA journal
. Was there a lesson that went particularly well? Make a note of it and other positive experiences you had in the classroom, especially surrounding your lesson plan because these could turn into great themes for a future tour. Discuss these successes with your travel consultant to create a unique tour, perfect for your class.

CalendarA personal appointment calendar. Yes, a date book will come in handy for reminding yourself of faculty meetings, PPTs, and important deadlines for your tour. Many teachers like to have a regular check-in with their travel consultant, especially as the departure date gets closer. Keep track of these meetings and what you’d like to discuss in your calendar.

Questions to consider:
Is there a destination that fits perfectly with a lesson you have planned? What will you be teaching before or after the major breaks, especially spring break? Do any of your colleagues travel with their students? Where? What kind of school board requirements are there?
