Teaching is a profession that truly shapes lives. At the same time, this influence is often not appreciated in the moment. You might hear students complain about a certain teacher giving them too much work, challenging them too much, or demanding too much of them. Later on in life, though, if you ask those same students which teachers made the greatest impact on their lives, it will be the ones that pushed them the most.
So, during this Teacher Appreciation Week, we’ve compiled a few simple ways to show your gratitude towards your teachers!
- Gift Cards
So simple, yet so appreciated! Unfortunately, teachers often have to dip into their own pockets to fund their classrooms. A simple gift card to Amazon, Staples, Barnes & Noble, or a local coffee shop is a great way to say ‘Thank you’! - A thoughtful card or poem
This is a great no-cost option for larger classrooms. A handmade craft or card signed by all the students will show the teacher that they care and appreciate everything he/she does for them all year - Volunteer time
Like a gift card… for your time! Organizing a volunteer night or weekend can be a great way to help your teacher build camaraderie within the class or school. Tasks like organizing the bulletin board, rearranging the classroom, or preparing materials for future lessons can take a lot of stress off the teacher.
