Did you know you can receive professional development by leading your students on an Explorica tour? Our partnership with WorldStrides enables us to issue professional development certificates to our teachers for their work on the travel program. This opportunity is available on all Explorica programs, no matter the destination, with amazing benefits:
- Professional development is provided to teachers (group leaders and chaperones) at no cost.
- Generally associated with renewing one’s teaching license, our professional development is anchored in interaction and engagement. Leading a travel program is much more rewarding than sitting through a dry presentation in the school’s library.
- A professional development certificate will be issued for up to 35 points/hours or 3.5 CEUs based on the length of the tour. Check with your district or state regarding the way these points can be applied.
WorldStrides was the first accredited student travel organization in the nation. Accreditation recognizes educational institutions for performance, integrity, and quality, and earns them the confidence of the educational community and the public. WorldStrides is independently accredited for K-12 education by regional accrediting bodies across the nation, including:
- Western Association of Schools and Colleges
- Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools
- AdvancED, the parent organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement, and the Northwest Accreditation Commission
Our partnership allows us to offer academic credit to students as well!
