Group Leader Spotlight: Perry

Perry

Perry, senior attorney

Perry is a lawyer by trade, but history and travel are his true passions. “If I could make a living as a historian, I would do it,” he jests. Perry has walked in the footsteps of famous historic figures all across Europe, and has designed more than a dozen history-specific tours.

But Perry wasn’t always so worldly. “I was 41 before I visited Europe,” he shares, “and only then because a friend talked me into joining his trip.” The friend was a professor at a nearby college who needed more participants for a tour. When he specifically changed the trip’s itinerary to include a visit to Omaha Beach (where Perry’s father had fought), Perry had no choice but to enroll. “That was it,” he says, “I caught the travel bug.”

Perry joined the college for several more trips, which he custom-designed based on
his studies and books like “Citizen Soldier” and “Band of Brothers.” “The trips were so popular the college president asked me to keep doing them,” Perry recounts. He eventually took over the school’s travel and study abroad programs, logging trips with every major travel company.

“Of everyone I have traveled with, Tower BridgeExplorica provides the best value in the industry,” Perry says. “With Explorica, it’s all-inclusive—no nickel-and-diming. The hotels are good, the food is great, and the guides are excellent.” Perry leverages this value to extend the travel opportunity to as many people as possible. “It doesn’t matter how old you are,” he begins, referring to the mix of students and adults who join his tours. “When you set foot in Europe for the first time, it’s the same sense of wonder—standing in a famous place knowing how many incredible things happened right there in that spot. It’s a deeply moving experience, and it changes you forever.”
